A wide range of Fertility Services
Duncroft Canine Fertility Service provides a variety of fertility services from our central base. We also provide the convenience of instant results from our services.

Ultrasounds
Ultrasound scanning is entirely painless and poses no risk to either the mother or the puppies she is carrying. This non-invasive procedure can be conducted as early as 28 days following the last mating or insemination process.

Microchipping
A microchip implant is a small integrated circuit inserted under a dog's skin for identification purposes. Roughly the size of a large grain of rice, this chip uses passive radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology and is commonly referred to as a PIT tag.

Cytology
Cytology involves examining the vaginal cells of female dogs to pinpoint the ideal breeding time. Throughout various stages of the estrus cycle, these cells undergo observable changes in appearance and behaviour.

Stud Services
A stud dog is a male canine used specifically for breeding. Selection criteria typically include genetics, breeding history, show achievements and lineage. These dogs are usually of exceptional quality. At our facility, we currently have four dogs available as stud options.

Artificial Insemination
Artificial Insemination involves the insertion of semen into the uterus through the cervix using an endoscope (tube), which enables our experts to see the cervix and insert a catheter. This procedure can be performed while the dog is standing up.

Semen Testing
Our semen testing services are applicable to stud dog semen collected from dogs aged around 12 months and older. We assess the sperm's overall mobility, crucial for successful movement towards an egg. Upon completion, we provide a certificate for your records.

Progesterone Testing
Progesterone testing in dogs helps determine the optimal breeding time by measuring hormone levels. It is essential for predicting ovulation and ensuring successful mating or artificial insemination.
